Meeting with City Council and Participants of the “Youth&Government” Municipal Programme (2.04.2025, Ivano-Frankivsk)

On 2 April 2025, representatives of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine and Agência Nacional Erasmus+ Juventude/Desporto e Corpo Europeu de Solidariedade met with Ivano-Frankivsk city officials and participants of the “Youth&Government” municipal programme. The meeting included 22 participants: leadership and team of Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, youth leaders, students, and volunteers.​

Oksana SAVCHUK opened the event by emphasising the importance of supporting the youth sector for Ukraine’s future. She highlighted the necessity of developing active youth as a driving force for change and innovation, particularly through programmes like Erasmus+. She highlighted the need to create opportunities for young people to engage in international initiatives, fostering their professional growth and shaping a new generation of leaders capable of transforming the country.​

Yuriy GOLOVCHUK presented the City Council’s unique internship programme for active youth and young leaders. He presented achievements within Erasmus+ projects and shared experiences of cooperation with Sweden, Germany, Poland, and Italy.​

Luís ALVEIS presented opportunities provided by the EU’s Erasmus+ Programme and the European Solidarity Corps. He discussed collaboration with Portuguese partners for joint project implementation that addresses the city’s needs, regional youth policy, and enhances youth participation in international initiatives. The meeting explored possibilities for developing partnerships, encouraging young people, youth leaders and youth workers’ participation in educational and volunteer programmes, and expanding the impact of international projects, particularly within Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps.​

At the conclusion of the meeting, Luís ALVEIS and Kateryna ZHDANOVA had intensive discussions with participants of the “Youth&Government” municipal programme. They learned about the participants’ interests, needs, dreams and challenges related to self-realisation, employment, and acquiring new knowledge and skills during martial law. Participants had the opportunity to ask different questions critical for them.​

The meeting concluded with all parties agreement on the next steps for further cooperation. Erasmus+ Agency and office teams committed to identifying potential partners in Portugal and jointly preparing project proposals for Erasmus+ calls, aimed to create new opportunities for strengthening youth participation in international educational and cultural initiatives.
